SpiceJet Ltd. to be felicitated with 2008 CIO 100 Award

Mumbai: SpiceJet Limited, which has been recognised as the winner of IDG India's 2008 CIO 100 Award, will be felicitated with the award on September 6, in a function to be held in Jaipur. The annual award programme recognises organisations that exemplify the highest level of operational and strategic excellence in Information Technology (IT) sector. This year's award theme, 'The Bold 100,' will recognise those executives and organisations who embrace great risk for the reward.
The Low Cost Carrier will be felicitated by the award owing to its online payment mechanism while booking the tickets, its technological innovation which acts as a platform for safe transaction and its automated risk management solution to address the issue of online fraud. SpiceJet is the first in the airline industry to implement a Direct Debit solution for the direct purchase of tickets with payment through Net-banking. Most airlines only provide credit card payment through their web sites.
