Akbar Travels opens ticketing counter at Mumbai airport

Mumbai: Akbar Travels introduced its first ticketing counter at 1B Terminal of Mumbai's domestic airport recently. By offering all the travel related services under single roof, the company is expecting good business margins by next year from this office. After setting up shop at Mumbai airport, the company is looking at introducing similar counters in four more cities in India. Along with air ticketing, the counter will supplement its operations by providing domestic and international hotel bookings, holiday packages and travel insurance. Railway tickets will also be available soon at the new counter. The counter will operate 24 hours and seven days a week.
Talking about the development, Vijay Kesavan, CEO, Akbar Travels said, “Through the airport ticketing counters, we are aiming to tap the last minute travelers. Along with offering competitive fare rates, we are also going to offer other travel related services to enhance the travellers experience. We are looking at introducing similar counters at four other domestic airports in India.” He refused to disclose the airports which are under considerations and also the time line to start operations at those airports. The company already operates car rental service along with inter state bus booking counters at the domestic and international airports across various cities in India.
