New Delhi: On Friday, the scene outside Terminal 1 B of Indira Gandhi International Airport was in stark contrast to what passengers had witnessed on Thursday.
The sacked Jet Airways employees—who had been reinstated overnight—were back, but this time with bouquets.
The relief and happiness were palpable as close to 30 cabin crew gathered outside the airport on Friday morning to congratulate each other in person.
A discussion with the management followed immediately after, during which the youngsters were informed that they could resume work from the day after.
Though employees are elated over the announcement made by Naresh Goyal late Thursday night, they admit that working for the airline will not be the same after this ordeal.
Jennifer Reynolds (name changed), who wasn’t pink-slipped but feared suffering the same fate in the near future, was relieved after she watched the company’s boss make a public statement on the issue. However, her confidence in Jet Airways has been shaken.
Many who made sacrifices on the academic front for an early start in the aviation sector now say that they will get back to pursuing their graduation degree to keep their options open.
