Jet Airways reduces flights to Kashmir

Srinagar: Impact of the Jet Airways’ retrenchment is already visible here as the airliner has reduced its daily flights to Kashmir to just a single.
Confirming that the flights to Kashmir have been reduced, Jet Airways, Sales In-charge, Kashmir, Zameer Ahmad, said there would be reduction of flights all over India in the coming times.
According to Zameer there wouldn’t be any further flight reduction to the Valley as the winter season is ahead, “which is considered to be the healthy business season.”
He said the decision to reduce the flights to Kashmir was taken earlier and it was not because of the impact of retrenchment. “Our Jet Lite flight is grounded in Delhi for some repair work,” he said.
There are over 500 passengers flying by Jet Airlines to and from Kashmir in peak season, Zameer said.
Over the recent retrenchment of the employees of Jet, Ahmad said around 25 employees are on the direct rolls of Jet Airlines in Kashmir. “None of us has got any retrenchment notice till date,” he confirmed, adding that nobody would be sacked anymore.
