Jet chairman meets staff, cabin crew

New Delhi: In what seemed like goodwill hunting, the Jet Airways management, Naresh Goyal, airline chairman, and senior airline officials met with
the earlier retrenched cabin crew and ground staff on Monday morning in Delhi and apologised for what had happened.
According to sources, Goyal apologised to the staff with "folded hands'' and said he was not aware of how critical the situation had become. Goyal allegedly claimed he did not know retrenchment was taking place on such a large scale and had asked the management to stop with the process as soon as he got the news. He had said the same a few days ago before reinstating the sacked employees.
The reinstated crew and staff were told to follow normal procedures and schedules. They were also, reportedly, told that no salary reduction was being planned specially for them. Moreover, if such a need was felt, the airline would first reduce salary of senior staff and management and if still required, would consider the non-confirmed staff.
