NOC Cell of Kochi airport AAI inaccessible

Nedumbassery: The location of the NOC Cell of Airport Authority of India (AAI), which is to give sanction for the construction of structures near the Kochi airport, causes security problems and difficulties to the people who want to construct buildings in the area as the office of AAI is functioning in the Air Traffic Control (ATC) building which is considered the most sensitive area.
An NOC from the AAI is mandatory to construct any structure in 20 km radius of the airport.
People in Kanjoor, Kalady, Sreemoolanagaram, Chengamanad and Nedumbassery panchayats and the Angamaly municipal limit have to obtain NOC for construction of buildings.
The ATC building, which houses the offices of the AAI and CISF Commandant, is under tight security of CISF personnel. So the people who want to obtain NOC find it extremely difficult to reach the NOC Cell. They also find it difficult to communicate with CISF personnel as most of them are non-Malayalis.
Tight security arrangements and detailed questioning of people at the ATC building always lead to confrontation between them.
The delay and difficulties to approach the NOC Cell forced many to drop their plans, affecting the launch of new constructions and developments.
