Passengers face hardship as Air India cancels Delhi- Bhubaneswar flight

Bhubaneswar: More than 50 air travelers on Saturday evening got a shock after Air India cancelled its late evening flight to New Delhi, sources said on Sunday.
Passengers waiting for IC 7609 to go to Delhi were informed that it never took off from IG Airport due to technical fault. IC 7609 is scheduled to leave Bhubneswar at 20.30 hours and reach 22.30 hours at Delhi but cancelled.
A senior officer in the Biju Patnaik Airport said lately the Air India authorities are cancelling flights without any rhyme and reason. Technical snags are cited as the cause, he said.
Orissa is the only state in eastern region, which is not directly connected with Chennai. Though there were flights to Chennai from Bhubaneswar, it has been cancelled.
The passengers of this route have been facing a lot of hardship due to the cancellation of IC 541 and IC 542 flying on Chennai-Bhubaneswar-Kolkata and Kolkata-Bhubaneswar-Chennai route from 16 May, 2008.
