Bucking the trend of the festive season where India’s all the carriers removed discounted fares and on an average started charging higher fares, premier low-cost carrier SpiceJet, on Wednesday announced a significant drop in its fares across the network on advance purchase of tickets.
“Fares on our network will be now significantly lower on advance purchase. We have removed the congestion charge completely. With improved infrastructure available, we do not face this problem anymore and our on time performance across the network is also on an all-time high at 88%. Since there is no congestion impacting our service, we want to pass on the benefit to the customers,” Samyukth Sridharan, chief commercial officer, SpiceJet said.
“In addition to this we also launch our Special Spicy fares that will ensure our consumers have up to 15% saving on advanced purchase...”, he added.
“We are also re-launching our services to Jaipur from October 26, 2008. We hgood bookings on our newly introduced Mumbai—Jaipur sector. We also offer Mumbai—Goa on a more convenient timing and our flight to Srinagar from Mumbai will now also connect Jammuave seen very along with Delhi and help more traffic into the region” he further added. The reduced fares would be effective from today, he said.
