AI committed to ensure transparency, accountability: CMD

New Delhi: Air India has adopted a policy of integrity pact for procurement of goods and services above a threshold value and also decided to give protection to the whistleblowers in order to ensure transparency and accountability in all its activities.
"In pursuance to the direction of Central Vigilance Commission, the National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL)- Air India - has adopted the policy of integrity pact for procurement of goods and services and was ready to provide protection to the whistleblowers," AI Chairman and Managing Director Raghu Menon said at a Vigilance Awareness Week function here.
The airline had observed Vigilance Awareness Week from November 3 to 7, during which Central Vigilance Commissioner Pratyush Sinha met senior airlines officials and stressed on bringing transparency and accountability in the organisation.
Air India was committed to ensure complete transparency and accountability in all activities of the organisation, Menon said.
Addressing the function, the Central Vigilance Commissioner said transparency does not reduce the efficiency and now people are seeing greater accountability and control as a virtue.
