fare published by the airline concerned, Manoj Sogani, chairman ,Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) Rajasthan chapter, said on Tuesday. He added that airlines have discontinued the commission of 5% to the agents. However, the airlines have decided that they will include the transaction fee in their published air fare from November 1 onwards.
He denied claims made by a few independent travel agents that a transaction fee will be charged on passengers.

Earlier, 14 airlines have gone to zero-commission while claiming the step has been taken to reduce operational costs so that fares remain stable for passengers during the present recesssionary situation. However, airlines such as Air India, Jet Airways, Kingfisher and Singapore have agreed to include the transaction fee in the fare.
