Heart patient dies on flight from Korea

On Thursday morning, a 44-year-old passenger died on board a Korea Air flight. The passenger, who worked as an engineer in a Korean company, was a heart patient and was accompanied by his wife and son. According to officials, Deepak Gawankar had a massive heart attack during the flight.
The deceased’s wife Shubhangi Gawankar said that she had gone to Seoul to celebrate Diwali with her husband. “He had joined Sea Quest as an engineer in June. He was there on a year’s contract,’ said Shubhangi.
”The family boarded the Korea Air flight on Wednesday night. Around 12.40 am, Deepak complained of uneasiness and was attended by a doctor on board. Shubhangi said that though the doctor gave him oxygen and tried CPR, he wasn’t able to resuscitate Deepak.
“After the flight landed, the doctors examined Deepak and declared him dead at 2.20am,” said the spokesperson for MIAL.
