IGI security breach: 3 CISF personnel suspended

New Delhi : Three Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel, including an inspector, have been suspended from service with immediate effect, in the follow up to the security breach at the Delhi airport last week, when two-three private workers had reportedly entered the prohibited zone.
Sources said the decision came after senior CISF officers conducted an inquiry into the matter. Inspector P R Meena and two other constables on duty that day have been suspended. This was confirmed by CISF Public Relations Officer Rohit Katiyar.
CISF officers, however, didn’t reveal the names of the two suspended constables.
On October 25, a Toyota Qualis carrying staff members of Sahara press, a private firm, just drove inside the restricted area without any requisite licenses or pass, and no one questioned them. The incident occurred around 1.25 am.
R S Yadav, a supervisor with Sahara Press and Sishupal, housekeeping staff, were supposed to pick up a consignment from Kingfisher Cargo.
An Indian Airlines official spotted them at hangar no.2, which had Indian Airlines aircraft parked for maintenance, and informed CISF officers when he didn’t get any satisfactory reply from them. They were handed over to police.
