Intruder into Chennai airport caught

Chennai : In a security lapse, a 30-year-old man sneaked into the runway area of the international airport here on Sunday evening after scaling the perimeter wall.
He entered the airport from Pallavaram area on the southern side which is adjacent to an army area.
The man was spotted by Airports Authority of India Supervisor Sekar while on a routine round at around 5.45 pm.When confronted, the man tried to escape by attacking Sekar. However, the official overpowered him and handed him over to the police.
According to airport sources, Damodharan of Andhra Pradesh was interrogated by the Central Industrial Security Force personnel, incharge of airport security, and police.
