Mumbai: Australia-based, Qantas Airways that has an ongoing code-share agreement with Jet Airways plans to work closely with the latter in order to connect passengers from markets like Bangkok and Hong Kong to onward destinations in Australia. As per the current code share agreement between Qantas and Jet Airways, passengers can fly from Delhi to Bangkok on Jet Airways flight and take an onward connection to Australia on a Qantas flight. Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor, Steve Limrick, Regional General Manager South East Asia, Qantas Airways, said “We have renewed our code share agreement with Jet Airways and will work closely with them to increase traffic from Asian markets like Bangkok and Hong Kong where Jet has operations.” Earlier, Quantas and Jet entered into a code share agreement to connect passengers to Australia via Singapore.
Furthermore, Quantas has plans to introduce paperless check-in from early next year in the international market starting from Singapore. However, the airline is awaiting approval from local authorities for the same. Quantas will also consider introducing the paperless check-in facility in other markets after evaluating market conditions.
