Air India flight timings changed

Patna: Every winter flight schedules in the city go awry. The inordinate delays in the Air India Patna-Delhi morning flight (IC-410) during the last 10 days underline this fact. The flight often ran two to three hours behind schedule during the period.
Left with no option, the airline on Tuesday decided to change the flight schedule effective from December 3 to 31. "IC-410 will now reach here at 10.25 am and the scheduled departure time would be 11.10 am," Air India station manager Neeraj Sinha said.
Flight schedules getting affected due to misty/foggy conditions is nothing new. It is a regular feature every year and during peak winter from the third week of December to the first week of January. Even afternoon and evening flights are affected due to poor visibility.
Jet Airways is likely to suspend its late evening Patna-Delhi flight from the third week of December for a fortnight. "We did it in the past and this year too the flight is likely to remain suspended during peak winter," a senior Jet official said, adding that an announcement would be made very soon.
The operators' problems notwithstanding, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) has expressed its inability to replace the CAT-I landing instrument which is effective only if the fog or mist cover is very thin.
