Mumbai: The number of Passenger carried by NACIL decreased to 53,42,432 during April-September, 2008 as compare to 75,15,214 during April-September, 2007 a decline of 29%.
Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel told the parliament on Tuesday that National Aviation Company of India Ltd., which owns Air India, has projected a loss of Rs2.15bn for the financial year 2008-09.
However, the projected loss is likely to vary due to steep increase in fuel prices in the first half of the current fiscal year, decline in air traffic, economic downturn, fall in yields and appreciation of the dollar, Patel said.
The number of passengers carried by NACIL decreased to 53,42,432 during April-September 2008-09 from 75,15,214 during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year, a decline of 29%.
