Nedumbassery: The security agencies operating in the Kochi airport were shocked on Thursday when a Dubai-bound passenger from Andhra Pradesh managed to reach up to the apron point of the international terminal by possessing a duplicate boarding pass.
Krishna and Parvadesh of Andra Pradesh reached the airport to leave for Dubai by the Al-Jazeera airlines flight on Thursday.
Krishna, who got his boarding pass, complained that his pass was missing.
He was issued a duplicate boarding pass on the request of the Al-Jazeera airline officials.
He handed over the duplicate pass to his friend Parvadesh who was waiting in the queue. Both of them have undergone Emigration checking, CISF frisking and were relaxing in the launch.
Meanwhile, an Al-Jazeera airline employee found some difference in the number of passengers who completed the emigration clearance and boarding passes issued by the Air India staff.
Krishna and Paravadesh were intercepted by the Air India security when they tried to proceed to the aircraft.
A passenger who managed to evade security checkin at many points to reach near the aircraft even at a time of the tight security arrangements has caused serious concern about the security among the officers at the airport .
