IAD officers to wear black armband from tomorrow

Kolkata: As part of their nationwide protests, officers of the International Airport Division (IAD) in Kolkata will wear black armbands from Tuesday.
“Many of our officers have done outstanding work in the Delhi and Mumbai airports, but with these airports now being privatised, there is absolutely no recognition for them,” said Alok Das, secretary of IAD Kolkata.
Officers also complained about “punishment postings” in Port Blair and Ranchi.
National Airport Division officers, however, said that no such disparity existed and transfers and postings were handled by the headquarters.
On December 12, IAD officials in Kolkata had submitted their demands to Kolkata Airport Director V K Monga, setting December 31 as the deadline for the authorities to take action.
