Post-protest, Kingfisher says sorry for delay

New Delhi Kingfisher Airlines today gave an official apology in writing to passengers and promised them free transport from the Mumbai airport on arrival, after some 50 passengers protested and demanded a refund at the IGI Airport for the airline’s failure to inform them in advance about a delay.
The passengers said they were given no information even as Kingfisher flight IT-338 to Mumbai, scheduled for an 8-pm departure, was delayed by more than 40 minutes. After the aircraft arrived some 50 passengers protested and refused to board the flight unless the airline provided them a refund or compensate them for causing inconvenience. “No information was given to us regarding the delay,” Narendra Lalwani, a passenger, said. Priyank Parakh, another passenger, said, “There are no washrooms, and no provision for water or food was made by the airline when the flight was delayed.”
Kingfisher Airlines officials present at the airport apologised to the passengers.
