Domestic Passengers Carried by Indian Scheduled Airlines in 2008

The total passengers flown by the domestic carriers in 2008 were 407.73 lakhs. The break-up is as follows:
Air India (Domestic) – 66.35 lakhs, Jet Airways –87.62 lakhs, Jet Lite – 32.50 lakhs, Deccan – 49.78 lakhs, Kingfisher – 62.80 lakhs, Spice Jet – 40.69 lakhs, Paramount – 6.30, Go Air – 13.63 lakhs, IndiGo – 47.46 lakhs. (Deccan figures till November, 2008).
The percentage share of the carriers in 2008 was:
Air India (Domestic) 16.3%, Jet Airways – 21.5%, Jet Lite – 8.0%, Deccan – 12.2%, Kingfisher – 15.4%, Spice Jet – 10.0%, Paramount – 1.5%, Go Air – 3.3% and IndiGo – 11.6%. (Deccan figures till November, 2008).
The total domestic passengers carried by the Scheduled Airlines of India in the fourth quarter of 2008 – October 2008 to December 2008 - was 94.57 lakhs. The break-up is as follows:
Air India (Domestic) – 16.61 lakhs, Jet Airways –17.42 lakhs, Jet Lite – 7.43 lakhs, Deccan – 8.16 lakhs, Kingfisher – 16.95 lakhs, Spice Jet – 9.95 lakhs, Paramount – 2.05 lakhs, Go Air – 2.20 lakhs, IndiGo – 13.55 lakhs.
The percentage share of the carriers in the fourth quarter of 2008 was:
Air India (Domestic) 17.6%, Jet Airways – 18.4%, Jet Lite – 7.9%, Deccan – 8.6%, Kingfisher – 17.9%, Spice Jet – 10.5%, Paramount – 2.2%, Go Air – 2.3% and IndiGo – 14.3%. The total domestic passengers carried by the Scheduled Airlines of India in the month of December, 2008 were 33.23 lakhs. The break-up is as follows:
Air India (Domestic) – 5.57 lakhs, Jet Airways –5.55 lakhs, Jet Lite – 2.57 lakhs, Kingfisher – 9.02 lakhs, Spice Jet – 3.73 lakhs, Paramount – 0.81 lakhs, Go Air – 0.75 lakhs, IndiGo – 5.12 lakhs.
The percentage share of the carriers in the month of December, 2008 was:
Air India (Domestic) – 16.8%, Jet Airways – 16.7%, Jet Lite – 7.7%, Kingfisher – 27.1%, Spice Jet – 11.2%, Paramount – 2.4%, Go Air – 2.3 % and IndiGo – 15.4%.
The seat factors of the domestic airlines in the December 2008 were:
Air India (Domestic) – 60.0%, Jet Airways – 60.0%, JetLite – 68.6%, Kingfisher Airlines – 62.8%, Spice Jet – 69.6%, Paramount Airways – 84.6%, Go Air – 63.0% and IndiGo – 75.5%.
It may be recalled that the total domestic passengers carried by the Scheduled Airlines of India in the first quarter of 2008 - January 2008 to March 2008 was 111.90 lakhs. The break-up is as follows:
Air India (Domestic) – 16.42 lakhs, Jet Airways –25.44 lakhs, Jet Lite – 7.98 lakhs, Deccan – 16.39 lakhs, Kingfisher – 16.26 lakhs, Spice Jet – 11.55 lakhs, Paramount – 1.42 lakhs, Go Air – 4.92 lakhs, IndiGo – 11.52 lakhs.
Domestic passengers carried by the Scheduled Airlines of India in the second quarter of 2008 – April 2008 to June 2008 was 115.14 lakhs. The break-up is as follows:
Air India (Domestic) – 17.71 lakhs, Jet Airways –24.28 lakhs, Jet Lite – 9.48 lakhs, Deccan – 15.54 lakhs, Kingfisher – 16.52 lakhs, Spice Jet – 12.04 lakhs, Paramount – 1.41 lakhs, Go Air – 4.49 lakhs, IndiGo – 13.50 lakhs.
The total domestic passengers carried by the Scheduled Airlines of India in the third quarter of 2008 – July 2008 to September 2008 - was 86.13 lakhs. The break-up is as follows:
Air India (Domestic) – 15.61 lakhs, Jet Airways –20.48 lakhs, Jet Lite – 7.61 lakhs, Deccan – 9.69 lakhs, Kingfisher – 13.07 lakhs, Spice Jet – 7.15 lakhs, Paramount – 1.42 lakhs, Go Air – 2.02 lakhs, IndiGo – 8.89 lakhs.
