Flights continue to be delayed due to fog

Lucknow: Heavy fog continued to be a limiting factor for the timely arrival of flights in Lucknow on Monday. And once again it were the flights coming from Delhi which faced the maximum problems. As many as seven flights coming from the national capital were delayed by several hours because of the bad weather. The only improvement was in case of flights from Mumbai which, for a change, were on time.
Jetlite flight S26137/6138 from Delhi reached Amausi almost six hours late. Likewise, Kingfisher's IT651/654 from Delhi was expected to touch the airstrip at Amausi at 9.10 am, but managed to reach only by 12.20 pm. The Indian Airlines flight IC411/412 from Delhi was delayed by three hours because of the foggy weather.
There was some respite in case of international flights which largely remained on time. However, that was not the case for the ones coming from Delhi. For example, Dubai bound Air India's flight IX193/192 from Delhi was delayed by an hour. The flight was expected to reach Amausi airport around 10.05 am and fly to Dubai at 10.55 am. The flight, however, reached Lucknow at 11.10 am only, even as scores of passengers waited for its timely arrival.
Airport director, SD Awasthi said that they have asked all the vendors selling snacks and water to keep their stock full to serve the growing number of passengers at the airport. He said that they have also made adequate arrangements for parking of vehicles.
