Hyderabad : A helicopter carrying the Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama from Hyderabad to Gulbarga in neighbouring Karnataka today developed a technical fault mid-air but it landed safely.
Sources in the Chief Minister's Office told PTI that an electrical fuse on board the Bell 430 helicopter of Andhra Pradesh Aviation Corporation, that was till recently used by Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, developed a fault but "it was nothing major." The chopper landed safely in Gulbarga with the VIP passenger.
Another helicopter from Hyderabad was rushed with a team of engineers to rectify the defect in the Bell copter and both the helicopters returned to the state capital by 4 pm, the sources said.
