Rajkot baron books flying car

Rajkot: Don't be surprised if you spot a strange-looking flying object hovering over Rajkot. A city-based entrepreneur is among the few across the world to have booked ‘Terrafugia Transition', a two-seater car that can transform itself to a plane in 15 seconds.
Subhash Shihora, CEO of Urok International, a consultancy firm, may be the first Indian to have booked the Rs 1.5-crore machine. Terrafugia, a Massachusetts-based firm, will come out with the roadable aircraft sometime in 2010.
Shihora, who has already taken some flying lessons, will get further training at Bangalore so that he gets a licence to fly the car. The petrol-run machine equipped with a 100 bhp engine will be able to fly up to 500 miles at a stretch at 115 mph. Which would mean he could reach Mumbai from Rajkot in three hours but, more importantly, whenever he feels like.
"Since I travel frequently, this flying car will be an easy option. I don't have to book a hanger at airport as it can be parked in ordinary garage at my residence," said Shihora, who recently sued Deccan Airlines after he was allegedly not allowed to board a flight despite having tickets. The flying car's design allows the aircraft to fold its wings and drive on any surface road after it lands at the airport.
