Terror threat at Bagdogra Airport

Siliguri: The Bagdogra Airport authorities in Siliguri received an anonymous letter yesterday morning cautioning about a terror attack on the airport within a week.
The letter, written in Bengali, was hand delivered by an unknown biker to the parking security guard at the airport at about 8:30 am yesterday.
“The caution about a probable terror strike was inscribed on the envelope while inside was a full-length letter charging a particular individual of being involved in anti-social activities, women trafficking etc. There was no mention about the sender,” said the Bagdogra Airport director and security committee chairman Mr KK Bhowmick.
In view of the threat letter, the Bagdogra security committee held an emergency meeting last afternoon and security was beefed up in and around the airport. “We have alerted the local police and also the higher authorities of the Airports Authority of India in Delhi,” Mr Bhowmick said.
