Air India domestic air fares

Air India has recently increased fares on various domestic sectors taking into account a number of factors, including demand and competitive environment. However, contrary to what has been reported in a section of the media regarding cartelisation, Air India does not and will not participate in any price-fixation attempt or mechanism aimed at building a cartel. The recent changes in fares on domestic routes were undertaken by Air India solely as a response to the changed market situation and did not occur simultaneously with the increase in fares by other carriers.

Moreover, Air India's domestic fares are significantly lower than fares charged by other full service carriers. Further Air India's fare on its website for online reservations are even lower than fares available for sale at its own offices. Air India will continue to offer attractive fare packages to its customers so that air travel continues to be a viable and affordable option for passengers.

  1. Domestic air fares need to be low-cost for passengers so that they could travel easily from destination to other destination.
