Air India will add 3 A321s to fleet on Monday

Mumbai: National Aviation Company of India (Nacil), which operates Air India, will take delivery of three A321 aircraft on Monday to further its domestic expansion plans. It will get three additional A319 aircraft in March.
The national carrier will add four B777-700ERs and three B777-200CRs to its fleet from June to September, and used them for international operations.
Confirming the development, a senior at Air India official said: “We are ready to take the delivery of three aircraft on Monday and these will be deployed on the Delhi-Cochin route. The aircraft are not on lease, but will be a direct purchase.”
He, however, refused to disclose financial details. By September end, the entity formed by the merger of Air India and Indian Airlines in August 2007, would add 13 aircraft to its existing 154.
Air India has the largest number of fixed assets in the Indian aviation industry. It has placed orders for 111 new aircraft, estimated at Rs 40,000 crore, and these will be delivered in three years.
