Madathil Raju turns up before cops

Thiruvananthapuram: Raman Pillai Raghu Adeekalathu alias Madathil Raghu, who was wanted in connection with airport assault case turned up before Thiruvananthapuram crime branch office today to surrender, but he was advised to surrender before chief judicial magistrate as per Kerala High Curt direction.
The Government had earlier opposed granting of anticipatory bail to businessman Reghu
And also two policemen including an Assistant Commissioner were suspended yesterday for letting off Reghu and his business companion Ahemed Mohammed Al- Jalak, a British national of Lebanese origin, who had earlier surrendered before police and was later granted bail.
According to police, central agencies had kept a close watch on the accused, considering the recent terrorist attacks in London and India.
The issue cropped up when an airport security officer attached to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) here has given a complaint to the city police accusing two passengers of assaulting him and others at the arrival hall of the airport’s international terminal building, in his complaint, CISF Inspector Subroto Chatterjee said the duo had disembarked at the airport from flight number EK 522, an airliner inbound from the UAE According to complaint filed they caused ‘nuisance and unruly acts’ at the immigration counter. Mr. Chatterjee, who was the CISF shift-in-charge, at the terminal said he ‘noticed that the two passengers were abusing every passenger and staff of various agencies of the airport’. He said in his complaint that the passengers ‘were beating all those who were trying to tackle them.’ Their acts, he said, were ‘totally unruly, uncontrolled and offensive which caused nuisance of criminal nature.’
