New Delhi: With jet fuel prices coming down, Malaysia Airlines has slashed its fuel surcharge on the India-Kuala Lumpur route by $50 from Monday, lowering the return air fare rate from Indian destinations.
The airline announced reduction of fuel surcharge to Kuala Lumpur by 20 per cent and to Australia and New Zealand by 37 per cent, a spokesperson said.
With the fuel surcharge on flights from India to Kuala Lumpur being reduced by $50, the return airfare from India to Malaysia post this fuel surcharge reduction will start from Rs 18,723, including taxes, the spokesperson said.
The reduction came in the wake of stiff competition from major airlines from the South East Asian region like Singapore Airlines.
While on the Australia and New Zealand sector, the fuel surcharge has been reduced by $320 for a round trip, the airfare will start from Rs 41,446.
