Praful Patel to lay foundation for Dabolim project

Panaji: "The Minister will the lay foundation stone for a new terminal building in Dabolim," state unit NCP chief Dr Wilfred D'Souza told reporters here today.
D'Souza said the new terminal will have all the required facilities to meet the increasing traffic. The airport expansion was mired in controversy after the state's elected representatives including Goa's lone Rajya Sabha MP Shantaram Naik accused the Indian Navy of hindering the project.
Dabolim airport is a naval base and is currently managed by the Indian Navy. Chief of Naval staff Rear Admiral Suresh Mehta, last week, had rubbished the allegations stating that Indian Navy had done more than what wasIndia asked for to expand the airport.
