Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Thursday directed the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to give hearing to a city-based ground handling agency, which operates at Mumbai International Airport.
BCAS withdrew the security clearance granted to Akbar Travels on February 24, on the ground that Intelligence Bureau (IB) had given "adverse report" about its directors.
Akbar Travels, which provides ground-handling services to Air India, moved the court saying no hearing was given to it.
The court had last week asked the BCAS to produce the IB report.
After going through the IB report, court held that by not giving the agency any hearing, before and even after the withdrawal of security clearance, BCAS has violated the principles of natural justice.
