Copter charter for Tirupati

Chennai: Pay Rs 18,000 and reach Tirupati in 30 minutes from Chennai. This and many similar journeys will now be possible with the Chennai- based Indra Air Private Limited (IAPL) all set to launch copter charter services to select pilgrimage centres in south India.
On March 12, the company will launch its charter service to Tirupati, according to W T S David, the general manager (commercial and operations), IAPL. “Soon, the services would be extended to Thiruvannamalai and Sabarimala,” he said.
IAPL has imported the Enstrom 480B helicopter from the US. The aircraft, which can carry four passengers, can fly without refueling for three hours, said David, pointing out that the flying time to Thiruvannamalai is 20 minutes, while Tirupati is 30 minutes away and Sabarimala is two hours away.
David said that company plans to buy more aircraft soon, adding that a twinengine, seven-seater Bell 407, a six-seater Agusta 109 and a 12 seater-Cessna Caravan will be added to the company’s fleet.
