Feb load factor not reflective of demand ahead: SpiceJet

Sanjay Agarwal, CEO, SpiceJet, said February sales were stimulated by low fares in January. “However, February load factor is not reflective of what will be the demand ahead.” He said the company may operate at 70% load factor in coming months.
Agarwal said the SpiceJet is in a good position. “We see a good FY10 provided crude stabilises with a marginal rise.”
According to Agarwal, increase in corporate business was seen in last few months and more corporates are now interested in flying low cost.
Meanwhile, commenting on the merger news, Agarwal said, “At the moment, we cannot confirm or deny merger with GoAir and neither can we confirm or deny market speculation.
However, Agarwal said, he met Jeh Wadia to get to know Indian aviation space. Agarwal believes consolidation is inevitable in Indian aviation industry. “Thus, SpiceJet would like to lead the path for consolidation as and when it happens.”
