Kingfisher Airlines makes its presence felt at Twitter

Mumbai: Kingfisher Airlines has created a presence on Twitter.com, a social networking and micro-blogging website, at twitter.com/FlyKingfisher. The company will be sending messages related to news, latest promotions, new sector launches, airport and weather updates to its consumers.
This initiative will make it easier for anyone to receive instant updates from Kingfisher Airlines and importantly, opens up a new platform for the brand to actively converse with its guests.
"With the launch of the FlyKingfisher on Twitter, we hope to start a dialogue and actively participate in conversations with our stakeholders in a setting where people are connected without intermediaries through their interests and relationships." says Vikram Malhotra, vice-president, marketing, Kingfisher Airlines.
Given the fact that the aviation sector is one of the most commonly mentioned categories of brands on Twitter, this service will be a very valuable tool for Kingfisher Airlines to start a dialogue with stakeholders and actively participate in the conversation.
Twitter.com, which has about 1.2 lakh users in India as per comScore data released in February 2009, is still nascent in the country. Some of the brands which have started experimenting with Twitter are Zapak.com, Naukri.com, Hindu Business Line, The Times of India, Mint and DNA, but these are still striving to get traction on it.
