Pantnagar airport to be further expanded

The Pantnagar airport in the Kumoan region of Uttarakhand will be expanded further for the operation of Boeing and Airbus aircraft in view of heavy industrialization and tourism potential in the area.
Work on the 4,500 feet long runway has been completed under Phase I. The Airports Authority of India carried out the modernisation work at a cost of INR 75 crore. Now under Phase II, the Pantnagar airstrip will be expanded to 7,000 feet. The state government has already acquired the land for the purpose.
