After Air India's surprisingly huge fare cuts now it's low cost airline, SpiceJet and JetLite, the low cost subsidiary of Jet Airways who are following AI's path by announcing attractive discounts to their customers on booking round trips with them.
SpiceJet has introduced special return fares which will be available to customers who log on to it's website for booking their tickets. The customers can get up to Rs 500 discount per person if they choose a round trip booking under this special programme. Tickets under this programme are available for all sectors and bookings can be done for travel up to October 25, 2009. Bookings once made can be cancelled only prior to using the outbound ticket. However, flights can be changed ahead of travel by paying a fee and the fare differential similar to any other regular fare ticket. This programme is not applicable for infant booking.
JetLite has introduced new low return fares effective from 22 April. This special low fares are starting from Rs 4,170 and is available in 24 domestic sectors. These return fares are all-inclusive and exclude airport development fee, user development fee and passenger service fee components.
JetLite passengers will also have to pay an additional transaction fee, over and above the other charges.
Despite the spiking aviation turbine fuel price, the national carrier and state-owned Air India announced to cut fares by as much as 70 per cent on 35 sectors, starting (April 21). ATF prices rose by 6.7 per cent which is the third consecutive hike this month.
