Air hostess found dead in her Chennai home

Chennai: A 25-year-old air-hostess, native of Bihar, was found dead at her residence in JJ Nagar near Mogappair on Saturday. The police, who registered a case of suicide (suspicious death), suspect that V Nitin Kumari could have died after consuming poison although the preliminary post-mortem report said that the woman had strangulation marks on her neck. The possibility of murder is also not being ruled out.
The incident came to light on Saturday night when some of her colleagues came to her house; she had not turned up at work for a few days. Kumari had been staying in a house owned by Baskar. The airline employees found her room locked from inside and a foul smell emanating from it, They then told Baskar who alerted the police.
Senior police officers rushed to the scene, broke open the door and found Kumari lying on the floor under a bed. There was some dried-up froth around the mouth and the body was partially decomposed. The police searched the room and picked up her mobile, a laptop and also recovered a photo of the girl with a boy. "We will question her parents and some of her friends about the boy in the photo," a police officer said.
The police suspect that Kumari could have committed suicide following a broken love affair and that she could have ended her life three days ago.
"We searched for some suicide note or letter but there was nothing. We have lifted samples from the house for the forensic laboratory. We will examine the incoming and outgoing calls from her mobile to check if we can get some clue," the officer adde.
At the Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, where he body was sent for an autopsy, several of Kumari's friends and colleagues had gathered.
