Air India to bring back students stuck in Leh

New Delhi: Coming to the rescue of over 200 students and faculty of a well known Mumbai college, who got stuck in Leh, Air India (IC) will be operating two special flights to bring the entire lot back to Delhi.
According to sources, the group was on an educational tour and reached Leh without any reservation for the return journey. However, when the time to return came up, they realised that all outbound flights from Leh were completely booked and they were unable to get any reservation. Then they approached Air India for help.
The Airline will be operating two flights, one on Sunday and the other on June 3 to bring back the stranded students and teachers. Since there is a load restriction for flights out of Leh, each flight would only be able to carry back between 95-100 passengers. "As part of the national carrier's social responsibility, we decided to help the group back to Delhi. Since this is a special case, we are trying to help as much as we can,'' said Manjara Khurana, executive director (northern region).
