New Delhi: Aranmula Aviation, a company promoted by NORKA- a consortium of Non-Residential Keralites Organisation in North America and Mount Zion Trust- recently appointed KITCO as the consultant for developing the private international airport in Aranmula near Kozhencherry in Pathanamthita district of Kerala. This information was divulged by Abhraham Kalapilllil, Managing Director, Arunmula Aviation Private Ltd. The company had acquired about 500 acres of land at Aranmula for developing the airport.
Although plans for developing the private international airport at Aranmula have been an important discussion with various ministries in India, the company received approval and clearance from the Ministry of Defense (MoD), Government of India last month. It also received a proposal clearance recently from Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF), Government of India. Talking about the next step, Kalapilllil said that they have appointed KITCO as consultant for the project. Now they are in the process of getting approval from Government of Kerala for building the airport.
When contacted, Cyriac Davies, General Manager, KITCO Ltd. informed that KITCO last month became the consultant for Aranmula Aviation and they are preparing a feasibility report for the airport project. Although they have got an approval from MoD and MoEF, but the crucial stage was to get a clearance from the Kerala government.
