Mumbai: Chimes Aviation Academy, a pilot training academy by Chimes Aviation Pvt. Ltd. recently launched charter service operations from its base – Dhana in Madhya Pradesh. The company received the Non-Scheduled Operators Permit (NSOP) in mid-April this year and now aims to operate charter services across central India along with offering services to few metro cities in the country. The air base is at a close proximity to national parks like Kanha, Pench, Panna and Bandhavgarh. The service is primarily targeted at high net worth individuals offering them connectivity to major wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh.
Talking about the new service and its future plans, Y N Sharma, COO, Chimes Aviation Academy said, “The non scheduled services are picking up in India, especially for the inbound sector and high end tourists. We have received immense response from the local hospitality players of the wildlife sanctuaries in Madhya Pradesh asking for operating more services to service their clients. With our fleet size and required infrastructure we aim to bring down the entry level price for charter services, hence making it possible for a whole new segment to use this service for business needs, Adventure Tourism, medical and special moments.” The company is currently operating on Birwa air-strip for Kanha Tiger Reserve and Umaria air-strip for Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve.
Apart from offering enhanced connectivity to the Madhya Pradesh based wildlife parks, the company is also looking at offering services to nearby metro cities like Mumbai, Nagpur, Delhi and Bhopal from Madhya Pradesh. Sharma said, “We are currently evaluating many routes in India where the demand and requirement is high. Apart from connecting metro cities, we are also contemplating plans to offer charter services on Golden Triangle route (Delhi-Agra-Jaipur) and Shimla by next season.”
