New Delhi: As many as 33.15 lakh passengers travelled within the country by scheduled airlines in April. It was 31.60 lakh in March.
While Air India carried 5.83 lakh passengers in April, Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher Airlines topped the chart with 8.61 lakh passengers. Jet Airways carried 5.52 lakh, while its low-cost arm Jet Lite carried 2.44 lakh passengers. In the case of IndiGo, it was 4.54 lakh. SpiceJet carried 3.87 lakh passengers, Go Air 1.45 lakh and Paramount Airways 75,000.
According to official figures released here on Wednesday, Paramount Airways, which has focussed its operations in the South, was on the top as far as seat factors are concerned. It clocked a seat factor of 88.5 per cent in April, followed by IndiGo (72.1) and Go Air 72 per cent.
It was 64.2 per cent for Kingfisher, 65 for Jet Airways and 68.7 for Jet Lite. In the case of SpiceJet, it was 68 per cent. Air India’s posted 59.9 per cent.
