Hyderabad: A 35-year old Non-Resident Indian (NRI) woman from the United States of America, was kept in an isolation centre at the Government Chest Hospital at Erragadda area here, suspecting her to have contracted H1N1 infection (swine flu). Samples were sent to the National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), New Delhi for examination. This was the seventh case referred to hospital till date.
According to hospital doctors, the woman accompanied by her child aged about 11 years, came by Lufthansa Airlines from Germany and landed at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport here last night at about 11.15 p.m.
After screening by medical officers, it was found that she was suffering with fever and cold.
Suspecting her to be affected with swine flu, she was immediately rushed to the Erragadda Chest hospital through `108’ ambulance at about 2 a.m. today. Both medical and para-medical staff had a check up before taking samples for the NICD tests.
The woman had first travelled from Chicago to Frankfurt (Germany) through the United Airlines, and after having screening and immigration check at the Lufthansa airport she caught the Lufthansa Airlines to land at Hyderabad airport.
