Passenger seeks compensation for missing baggage

Kozhikode: A Gulf-bound passenger, who could not locate his baggage after screening at the airport here, has sought compensation from authorities for 'negligence of duty', claiming that he was likely to lose his job.
Moroly Ali, who was scheduled to board an Oman Airways flight en route Bahrain on May six, found that his belongings were missing during screening after the officials asked him to verify contents of his pocket pouch at another counter.
" Though I returned within a minute, I found that my luggage was missing,"Ali told reporters here today.
However, his queries with the security officials regarding his luggage did not yield any response and as a result he could not board the flight, the beleaguered passenger said.
While he lodged a complaint with the airport authorities immediately, he was informed only yesterday that his luggage had been returned from Dubai that came in an Air India flight, he said.
"I am likely to lose my job in the Gulf because of the airport authorities' lapse,"he said, adding the security officials did not behave with him in a"responsible"manner.
