Airlines launch special offers to woo fliers

New Delhi: As the monsoons approach and air travel dips, all major airlines, including Air India and Jet Airways, have come up with special fares to attract passengers on the domestic sector.
Besides the full-service airlines, low-cost carriers SpiceJet, Jetlite, IndiGo and Jet Airways Konnect have also come up with special fares for domestic the fliers, despite the financial problems most of them are in.
Normally, the demand for air travel remains low-key between the monsoons and the festive season as also during February-March.
Air India launched its special fares from today for travel up to September 15, but tickets at these rates have to be bought by July three. The fares include taxes and surcharges but not the airport development fee (ADF), whichever airport they are applicable in.
For example, Air India's all-inclusive fare, excluding ADF between Delhi and Mumbai or Delhi and Kolkata would be Rs 2,479, while that between Delhi and Chennai or Goa would be Rs 2,729. The shorter distances line Chennai-Madurai or Delhi-Gwalior would be priced at Rs 1,979.
SpiceJet has introduced special fares starting from Rs 1,500 plus taxes for those wanting to fly to 18 destinations on its network between July 15 and September 15.
Jet Airways and its low-cost arms, Jetlite and JetKonnect, have also launched the special 'Monsoon Magic' prices for its passengers.
