Another swine flu suspect flies in

Mumbai An Air India passenger was quarantined at Mumbai airport late on Sunday evening for suspected swine flu infection, making him the 16th flier to be quarantined in the state.
The passenger, a 29-year-old male resident of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir who visited Jeddah in Saudi Arabia, was quarantined after he complained of throat pain, fever, cough and body ache — all symptoms of swine flu or infection from H1N1 virus .
“The suspected passenger was rushed to Kasturba Gandhi Hospital at 11 in the night. He is currently under symptomatic treatment,” said Dr Uddhav Gawande, deputy director, state health services.
His throat swabs have already been sent to National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune. “The patient is being given Tamiflu and has no fever, his general condition is good. His samples have been sent to NIV,” said Dr Umesh Aigal, medical superintendent, Kasturba Gandhi Hospital for Infectious Diseases.
So far, 15 passengers have been quarantined in the state. They were admitted to hospitals in the city and Pune, but all have tested negative.
