Anxious moments for Parlaiment security

New Delhi: A plane passing through the airspace over Parliament today gave some anxious moments for its security personnel who feared a breach of the Capital's no-fly zone.
The trigger for the alarm came when a Parliament security staff spotted the plane and informed his superiors who in turn informed all agencies concerned.
Even before the Parliament's security branch could lodge a formal protest, the Air Traffic Control(ATC) informed the central security agencies that the civilian aircraft concerned was flying well above 17,000 feet over Parliament.
The Jet Airways aircraft from London to India was asked by the ATC at 9.46 AM to take a circle over the Capital until the congestion at the airport had eased.
ATC sources said the plane had not violated the no-fly zone at all.
