Over four lakh passengers and visitors enjoyed the contest and promotions at the BIAL shopping festival. Read on to find out more.
Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) today announced the winners of the mega shopping festival held for a month at the Bengaluru International Airport. The participation came in not only from the passengers but also visitors to the airport. While winners were declared on a daily and weekly basis, the grand prize winners were chosen today in the presence of the sponsors – KSTDC and Jet Airways, along with BIAL officials in front of the Golden Chariot placed at the airport terminal.
Over the past four weeks, over 40 prizes were announced. Lucky winners went home with international return air tickets, exotic holiday packages and luxurious holidays onboard the Golden Chariot. Spectators and shoppers both from the state as well as from abroad appreciated the rich cultural shows, displays and enthusiasm that captivated the airport over the last month. The grand prize – a seven nights and eight days holiday onboard the Grand Chariot went to Mr. Sebastian Stanley.
Marcel Hungerbuehler commented on the success of the show by saying “We see the Bengaluru International Airport Shopping Festival as a good start. It is a new experience for the passenger at an Indian airport and from here; we have set the pace for an exciting retail environment for times to come. While per passenger spend went up marginally by 6%, the important fact to note is the sheer participation volumes. Working with sponsors like KSTDC and Jet Airways has been a pleasure and only the start of our collaborations together”.
Commenting on the festival and the response received, Girish Nair, Area General Manager - Karnataka & Andhra Pradesh of Jet Airways said, “It was a great learning experience for Jet Airways and we would like to thank BIAL for giving us this opportunity to add value to our customers through airport shopping festival which will become a critical component of airport services in the future. This was the first airport shopping festival where we participated as a brand and going forward we are committed to create many more unique customer experiences through our airport partners and thereby creating competitive advantage in the market place. Rapidly changing business environment will throw up many such opportunities where airlines and airports can launch series of marketing tie ups to create unique experience to the customers in the airport environment.”
