GMADA sends two names for airport project board

Mohali: Initiating the process further for the setting up of joint venture company for upcoming international airport in Mohali, the Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has forwarded the names of civil aviation secretary Vishawjeet Khanna and secretary housing Arun Goel to Airport Authority of India (AAI) to be inducted as directors in the project.
According to official sources, after AAI invited names from Punjab and Haryana to be included in the new joint venture company, the state government decided to send the names of Khanna and Goel. Once the company is formed these two will be board of directors from Punjab.
The company is most likely going to be named as Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh Antarrashtriya Hawai Adda (Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh International Airport), sources said.
As the process of forming joint venture for the international airport project is going on full swing, GMADA, too, has geared up to acquire land for the construction of connecting roads to international airport.
