Thiruvananthapuram: First phase expansion work of terminals, runways and other infrastructure at International Airport here was fast progressing, Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan told the assembly today.
It was now planned to have three aero-bridges and there was also provision to increase the number of aero-bridges if necessary, Achuthanandan said while replying to a submission.
The work of the Air India's Aircraft Maintenance Unit was also progressing, he said.
Government had acquired and handed over to Airport Authority 93 acres of land in the first phase for airport expansion. For the second phase expansion, 82 acres was necessary and state had already given 12.5 acres of land.
