Kolkata: A possible accident was on Monday averted when the pilot of a Kolkata-Guwahati flight with 57 passengers on board detected unusually high temperature in the plane's oil tank just before take off.
Sources in the NSC Bose International Airport here said the pilot of the Air India flight immediately cancelled the take-off and informed the Air Traffic Control room.
The plane was taken back from the runway and the passengers were made to disembark. They were later sent to Guwahati by another flight, the sources said.
