Air India Express redefines low cost aviation biz

Air India is all set to redefine the low cost aviation business in India by offering free meals on board. Its low-cost carrier Air India Express, which operates only in the international markets, will be launched in India starting September.CNBC-TV18’s Swati Khandelwal Jain reports. Here is a verbatim transcript of her comments on CNBC-TV18:
What we pick up from sources is that Air India Express, which is going to be launched in India as well, the low-cost services airline, will actually offer free food on board, which is something that the current low-cost carriers do not do. So, that makes them a very different and attractive proposition for the consumers who want to fly and actually be given free food on the airline.
As far as the ticket prices are concerned, sources indicate that the prices of tickets are also likely to be comparatively lower to a great extent depending on the routes, if you compare it with the other competitors like SpiceJet, Indigo, GoAir etc.
